emlyon has just been awarded the HR Excellence in Research label by the European Commission, a recognition that distinguishes institutions committed to an ambitious policy regarding the recruitment and working conditions of researchers. emlyon thus becomes the second French management school to obtain this distinction.

This label, awarded as part of the European Human Resources Strategy for Researchers (HRS4R), recognizes institutions that apply the 40 principles of the European Charter for Researchers and the Code of Conduct for the Recruitment of Researchers. It aims to enhance the attractiveness of academic careers by guaranteeing a quality work and research environment, while promoting international mobility and career development for researchers.

A concrete commitment to researchers

During its evaluation, the European Commission noted several strengths of the institution, particularly the active involvement of researchers in developing the institution's HR strategy. With more than 40% of international faculty members, emlyon operates within a multicultural and engaged academic framework. The evaluation also highlighted the implementation of strong social policies regarding gender equality, anti-discrimination, and support for researchers through specific training and prevention programs.

A lever to strengthen research attractiveness

emlyon thus becomes the second French management school to obtain this distinction. It confirms the continuous improvement dynamic, already undertaken by emlyon, to strengthen its attractiveness to researchers and offer them a stimulating, adapted, and fulfilling work environment.

Obtaining this label is a strong recognition of the work undertaken by emlyon to place its professor-researchers at the heart of its academic project. This distinction honors us, but above all, it commits us to continue our efforts to offer our scientific community an increasingly attractive, ethical environment conducive to creativity. We also aim to make research at emlyon a real lever for societal impact, by attracting the best talents, supporting academic freedom by promoting scientific and disciplinary pluralism, and encouraging work that addresses major socio-environmental challenges

As part of its "Résonances" 2024-2028 strategic plan, the school has displayed its ambition to recruit 50 world-class faculty members during this period. Starting in the 2024 academic year, 12 new professor-researchers have joined the school - five women and seven men representing ten nationalities. Today, emlyon's faculty consists of approximately 180 professor-researchers, no fewer than 5 Institutes and 7 research centers.
