Our ambition: enabling each person to succeed
The emlyon Foundation holds a strong conviction: potential exists everywhere, but opportunities do not. Every year, talented students give up on pursuing higher education at a Grande École. Not for lack of ambition, but because their social background, financial situation, or personal circumstances make them vulnerable. The emlyon Foundation works to ensure this does not happen.
Under the umbrella of the Fondation de France, the emlyon Foundation acts to ensure that potential and ambition are not hindered by social origin, life challenges, or disability. It supports highpotential young people on their path to an excellent education and strengthens the social and environmental engagement at the heart of emlyon business school’s mission. These young people are the Foundation’s Talents.
The emlyon Foundation transforms the generous donations of its patrons into concrete opportunities: life paths, renewed confidence, sustainable professional integration, and support for students by fighting social determinism and selfcensorship.
As part of the Résonances 2028 strategic plan, which places social and environmental commitment at the core of emlyon’s activities, the Foundation is an essential lever for strengthening the School’s social openness.

Governance of the emlyon Foundation
The emlyon Foundation is overseen by a voluntary Board of Directors composed of representatives from across the emlyon ecosystem: the School’s administration, alumni, students, and the CCI LYON METROPOLE SaintÉtienne Roanne, as well as donors and qualified experts selected for their expertise in the Foundation’s areas of action.
We would like to thank all the board members who have committed themselves to the Foundation since its creation. We also extend our warmest thanks to all the friends, alumni, administrative staff of the School, and students who contribute every day—with talent and enthusiasm—to fostering solidarity and a culture of giving at emlyon.

Under the aegis of the Fondation de France
The emlyon Foundation is legally independent from the School.
It is hosted by the Fondation de France, a foundation recognized as being of public utility, which guarantees its public‑interest status. It is a non‑profit organization, meaning that it operates for the benefit of the greatest number with disinterested management.
The emlyon Foundation is therefore positioned at the heart of France’s leading philanthropic network, with nearly 1,000 hosted funds that foster exchanges with experts.
This hosting arrangement enables the emlyon Foundation to offer numerous tax exemptions in France and internationally.
The emlyon Foundation entrusts the Fondation de France, with full confidence, with several responsibilities such as the rigorous and prudent management of its assets, the processing of donations and related technical interface, as well as the issuance of tax receipts.
The Fondation de France ensures, on a daily basis, that the emlyon Foundation meets all regulatory, legal, tax, and ethical obligations, including monitoring the decisions of the Board of Directors and the certification of its accounts by a statutory auditor.
The emlyon Foundation also collaborates with the Fondation de France Centre‑Est, based in Lyon.
