AI Responsible Missions
Years 3 and 4 are mainly project oriented around AI Responsible Missions with 3 tracks structured as follow:
- 4 months project work (spring term, Year 3)
- 3 months internship (summer term, Year 3)
- 4 months project work (fall term, Year 4)
Data Scientist Track
Students work in partnership with a company on a full scale data science project during a year, join the company during their Summer internship, and deliver their solution to the company.
Research Track
Students work in partnership with a research project tutored by a researcher. They join the lab during their summer internship, and deliver their solution to the company.
Entrepreneurship Track
Students are trained and supported by the incubators of emlyon business school and Ecole Centrale de Lyon yo start their own businesses. They work full time developing their company during their summer internship

Eligible profiles to the BSc in Data Science for Responsible Business
This Data Science degree targets high-potential students and delivers a hybrid advanced training in data science and management to fill a gap in organizations, and meet their need for responsible and enlightened AI experts.
The pedagogy of this data science program is applied and action oriented (group and individual projects, business games, flipped classrooms, etc). You will learn the best professional practices of AI and get a real know-how of data science through concrete business projects and responsible AI missions within companies, organizations, and research labs. Want to know how to join the BSc in Data Science for Responsible?
Students holding, or soon to hold, a French Baccalaureat must apply via the Parcoursup procedure.
Selection for the BSc Data Science for Responsible Business is competitive and follow a full online admission process.
You are first evaluated on the content and quality of your High School course work, your grades, your English proficiency. After successfully submitting your application online, you will then take an online admission test.
Selection sessions for the academic year 2025-2026 are organized from November 2025 to July 2026 (subject to availability).
- Admission to the 1st year:
For students in their final year studying for their High School certificate, for the IB or "National Baccalauréat", or for an equivalent certificate.
- Admission to the 2nd year:
For students currently completing a 1st year of university studies(to be validated by 60 ECTS credits) or a diploma certifying one year of successful study at a higher level and issued by an official higher education instituion.
Admission to the 3rd year:
For students currently completing a 2nd year of university studies (to be validated by 120 ECTS credits) or holding a diploma certifying two successful years of higher education issued by an official educational institution in an undergraduate program in mathematics, computer science, or engineering.

Step 1: Your application file
Mandatory documents (all the documents provided need to be in English or French - except passport and identity card):
- A resume
- A copy of an official valid identity card or passport
- A certified copy of your most recent academic degree
- A proof of enrollment statement for applicants currently enrolled in higher education
- A certified copy of your transcripts from the first year of high school until now
Step 2: Your digital test and online interview
- Part 1: cognitive test
You have to solve a series of logic reasoning tests (for instance, domino test).
- Part 2: mathematics test
You have 30 minutes to answer as many questions as possible (for instance, primitive or derivative computations, limit of a sequence, extrema of a function, polynomial roots, probability and number theory puzzles, etc.)
- Part 3: deferred video interview
This is a video differed interview. You are filmed while answering questions displayed on your screen. You have 15 seconds to read each question and limited time is set for each answer.
Step 3: Eligibility Board
The admission jury meets on a monthly basis after the receipt of the test scores; members of the jury analyze the results and decide on the eligibility of each candidate
Step 4: Individual video interview
Candidates who have met the eligibility requirements will be invited to an individual interview with a member of the emlyon or Ecole Centrale Lyon panel.
Step 5: Admission Results
The Admissions Board will fully review your application and will decide on your admission. You will receive an email as soon as possible to inform you that results are available on your candidate area.
Admissions sessions are organized from November 2025 to July 2026.

Applications for the 2025-2026 academic year will be open from early Novembre 2025 to July 2026 (subject to availability). The non-refundable application fee is €60 (payment only online by credit card when submitting your application)
Financing
The BSc in Data Science for Responsible Business is a 4-year post-baccalaureate program. Admission is possible in 1st, 2nd and 3rd year.
Tuition fees for this program are €14,650 per year, i.e for admission in
- 1st year:
€14,200 per year (€14,200 tuition fee + €450 general management fee), i.e over 4 years a total of €14,650 x 4 = €58,600
- 2nd year
€14,200 per year (€14,200 tuition fee + €450 general management fee), i.e over 3 years a total of €14,650 x 3 = €43,950
- 3rd year
€14,200 per year (€14,200 tuition fee + €450 general management fee), i.e over 2 years a total of €14,650 x 2 = €23,300
The tuition and fee charges are in effect for the 2024-2025 academic year and are subject to change for future years. These tuition fees include non-refundable registration fees, administrative fees, lifetime membership of the emlyon business school alumni network and, where applicable, teaching fees relating to academic exchanges.
