emlyon renews its triple accreditation for the maximum duration
In November 2025, AMBA has just confirmed emlyon business school's accreditation for the maximum duration (5 years). This decision follows the renewal of EQUIS in September 2024 (for 5 years) and AACSB in February 2025 (for 6 years). Held by less than 1% of the world's business schools, the triple international accreditation demonstrates the recognition, by its peers, of the quality of emlyon's fundamentals.
A renewal of the triple crown for the maximum duration
Holding the triple accreditation (AMBA, AACSB, EQUIS) for 20 years, emlyon has always renewed it for the maximum duration. In their reports, the accrediting bodies have, in particularly praised five key points:
The quality of research and academic excellence, notably reflected in an ambitious Faculty recruitment plan and a scientific culture aligned with the School’s strategic objectives, supported by its Centers and Institutes.
The entrepreneurial spirit and the unique pedagogy of "learning by doing", through the central role of makers’ projects within the programs, through an incubation and acceleration structure — emlyon venture labs — with over 40 years of existence, and through a makers’ lab, a true fabrication workshop open to all students and alumni.
The School's commitment to social and environmental issues, in line with its status as a Mission-driven company, is reflected in ambitious actions such as the scholarship policy for students, ranging from BBA to Master's degrees.
The quality of the campus, an place open to the city located in the heart of Lyon, the nerve center of the student experience offered by the School.
The level of employability supported notably by “an influential and accessible alumni network that actively helps current and future students” and by dedicated support for graduates entering the job market.
A triple accreditation that confirms the strength of the School’s foundations
These three international accreditations are carried out by panels of experts: Chief Executive Officers, Deans or Associate Deans of management schools that are themselves accredited. They conduct an accreditation visit and meet with a wide range of the School's stakeholders: external and internal governance, staff, students, graduates and corporate partners.
Focus on the 3 accreditations:
EQUIS: launched in 1997 by the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD), it is a globally recognised label of excellence that evaluates all the activities of management schools, with an emphasis on international perspective, relations with the socio-economic world and CSR. emlyon's first accreditation by EFMD-EQUIS took place in 1998, and the school was one of the first to obtain it. Last accreditation renewed in September 2024 for 5 years.
AACSB: Established in 1916, the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business is an internationally recognized U.S. organization for independently evaluating business schools around the world. emlyon's first accreditation by AACSB took place in 2005. Last accreditation renewed in February 2025 for 6 years.
AMBA: a British association created in 1967, it accredits the MBA, PGE and DBA programs of management schools. emlyon's first accreditation by AMBA took place in 2000. Last accreditation renewed in November 2025 for 5 years.
With the renewal of our three accreditations for the maximum duration, we maintain our ‘Triple Crown’, a distinction that confirms the relevance of our strategic orientations and the work carried out by all our teams in support of academic excellence, the quality of our students’ education, and their professional integration.
