Two emlyon students take to the mic at Google to talk about AI
Ilana Doumergue and Benjamin Huarte
During a visit to Google’s French headquarters, Ilana Doumergue and Benjamin Huarte, students in the Advanced-Master program in Digital Transformation, Marketing & Strategy at emlyon business school, recorded a special episode of their “IActu” series in the YouTube studios. In just five minutes, they break down four news stories exploring artificial intelligence and its applications.
Ilana Doumergue: "As part of a visit to Google’s French headquarters organised by Stéphane Feuillebois, a GenAI marketing expert and emlyon business school alumnus, Benjamin Huarte and I had the opportunity to record a podcast in Google’s studios.
Dr Julien Deseigne, Director of our Advanced - Master program in Digital Transformation, Marketing & Strategy, had shared a form with both of our cohorts, giving us the opportunity to record a podcast in Google’s studios during our visit to the company’s Paris offices. The instructions were simple: choose a current topic related to AI, either individually or in pairs, and talk about it for five minutes.
Since Benjamin and I host our own podcast, Le Spotcast, it felt only natural to seize the opportunity. We discussed possible topics and, after an intense brainstorming session, came up with the idea for“IActu: the podcast that breaks down, in just five minutes, the AI solutions that are impacting, or are about to impact, your everyday life and businesses.
We covered four news stories across four topics: AI & Fashion, AI & F1, AI & Digital, and AI & Banking.
The exercise was extremely interesting, as it is challenging to cover so many topics in such a short amount of time while remaining clear and easy to understand, all while keeping the conversation flowing naturally between us. Nevertheless, we were very pleased with the result.
The experience was particularly impressive, and almost intimidating, because we had the opportunity to record directly in the YouTube studios alongside the professionals who work there. We later received the raw footage and were able to share it on our personal social media accounts, turning this unique experience into a valuable professional asset.
A huge thank you to emlyon business school and Google for giving us the opportunity to set up our microphones in their studios. And who knows? Maybe one day Le Spotcast will make the YouTube studios its home."
