Mobilizing collectively for gender equality
As part of Women’s Rights Week, held from 9 to 13 March 2026, emlyon business school reaffirms its strong commitment to gender equality, inclusion and diversity. This thematic week offers a rich and varied programme designed to raise awareness, inform, and mobilize the entire community around this major societal issue.
A week of engagement to highlight women’s rights
Throughout the week, conferences, workshops, stands and immersive activities invite the School’s community to reflect on the persistent inequalities and discriminations that women continue to face across professional, social and personal spheres.
The 2026 edition focuses particularly on women’s health, declared a France national cause for 2025 and 2026, in alignment with the School’s commitment to the United Nations Sustainable Development Goal 3: Good Health and Well‑Being, the guiding theme for the academic year.
Participants will have the opportunity to attend three key events:
An emlyon research afterwork dedicated to preventing sexual harassment during internships and apprenticeships, led by Lisa Buchter, professor of sociology. This topic was also addressed by three emlyon graduates, through a pedagogical project that led to “Petit manuel du sexism en entreprise”, later expanded with the creation of the Instagram account @BalanceTonStage, collecting testimonies from students.
A roundtable discussion, “Women’s Mental Health and Leadership,” organised in partnership with Forvis Mazars, focusing on the determinants of women’s mental health in the workplace.
A webinar “Women Entrepreneurs Driving Impact,” proposed by the Sustain’Ability alumni club, bringing together committed graduates to discuss their trajectories, projects, and the levers of responsible entrepreneurship.
These flagship events are complemented by a broader programme aimed at the student community, including health and well‑being stands, an endometriosis awareness workshop, a feminist mural space for free artistic expression, an art exhibition exploring the invisibilisation of women in art, as well as a CSR information corner and themed library resources to deepen understanding of women’s rights and health issues.
These initiatives reflect a collective mobilisation driven notably by the student collective Olympe, in collaboration with student associations, the emlyon alumni network and the Social and Environmental Engagement Department. More broadly, they demonstrate the involvement of a wide range of stakeholders — students, alumni, faculty members, experts and partners — who contribute to advancing equality within the School and beyond its walls.
A school intrinsically committed
Beyond this thematic week, emlyon works daily to promote equality and support women’s empowerment, combat discrimination and foster an inclusive learning environment for all, through a transversal and systemic action plan. This ambition is reflected in several initiatives structured around three priority areas:
Promoting equality between women and men
Signing a charter and agreement dedicated to professional equality and inclusion
Evaluating progress in career development, mobility and promotion through the gender equality index, with a score of 85/100 in 2025
Combating sexism in all its forms
Two student collectives, Olympe and Embrace, committed to diversity and inclusion
Launch of the SpeakUp system, dedicated to supporting victims and witnesses of gender‑based and sexual violence
Signing of the #STOpE initiative
Signing of the LGBT+ commitment charter of France’s higher education sector with L’Autre Cercle and creation of an internal network of allies
Organization of vigilance days, raising awareness among students about sexual and gender‑based violence, risky behaviors, consent and health issues
Challenging stereotypes and fostering women’s empowerment
The women’s mentoring programme run by the emlyon alumni women’s network
The Women in Data Science event, supported and promoted by emlyon, to highlight and advance women’s presence in data and AI fields
These commitments are part of a broader strategy led by the School to address major social and environmental challenges. Environmental responsibility, equal opportunity, inclusion… All progress achieved in 2025 is presented in emlyon’s latest engagement report, illustrating a deep, collective and long‑term commitment.
