Patrick Eisenchteter appointed President of the emlyon Foundation
emlyon business school announces the appointment of Patrick Eisenchteter as President of its Foundation. His appointment as a member of the emlyon Foundation's Board of Directors on 18 June 2025, is an significant step for this essential institution, which play a key role in supporting the School's social responsibility strategy and its commitment to equal opportunities.
A new chapter for the emlyon Foundation
Patrick Eisenchteter succeeds Philippe Klocanas, outgoing President, who will continue to support the Foundation as Honorary President. His dedication and his decisive contribution to the Foundation’s social impact are recognized and appreciated by both the Foundation team and its entire donor community.
A 1989 graduate of the Master in Management Program and a former member of the student association Le Petit Paumé, Patrick Eisenchteter is co-founder of Motion Equity Partners, an independent private equity firm based in Paris. With a long career in private equity and mergers and acquisitions, he started at Arthur Andersen in New York and then in Paris, before continuing his professional career at Lazard, Europ@Web, and finally creating Motion Equity Partners.
Deeply aligned with the School’s mission, Patrick is both a parent of a student and a major donor to the Foundation. He fully embodies the values of transmission and solidarity, which are dear to emlyon. For example, two emlyon graduates are currently part of his twelve-member investment team, and who one of them used to be sponsored by the Foundation.

Patrick Eisenchteter’s appointment as head of the Foundation marks a new step for emlyon, driven by a strong ambition to foster social inclusion. A major pillar of its strategy, the School's social commitment – as detailed in its latest report, is implemented in particular by the Foundation through five scholarship programs designed to support students throughout their academic journey.
