Tech School: emlyon successfully launches its extension programs
Launched in April 2026, the first range of intensive programs from emlyon’s Tech School welcomed its first cohorts this spring. With nearly 300 applications, 32 learners recruited and 25 partner companies involved, the “emlyon ProPulse” extension programs demonstrate the school’s ability to open up to new audiences and support the rapid transformations of the world of work.
As technological developments profoundly reshape many professions, emlyon business school continues its original mission: anticipating the needs of organizations to support their transformation.
Launched in May 2026 as the first building block of the Tech School, the “emlyon ProPulse” extension programs target professionals from diverse backgrounds — from vocational certificates (CAP) to two-year degrees and beyond, including non-managerial employees or individuals undergoing career transitions. They focus on roles that are in shortage, emerging or rapidly evolving, and aim to enable participants to quickly acquire skills sought after on the job market.
Two first cohorts successfully launched
Two programs were launched in spring 2026: “Augmented Technician” in April and “AI Lead” in May. Lasting three to four months, these intensive programs, designed in partnership with companies, stand out for their ability to lead directly to employment upon completion. They generated strong interest from the outset, with nearly 300 applications received and 32 learners enrolled in the first cohorts.
The diversity of profiles is significant across both programs:

Strong mobilization of partner companies and France Travail
The “emlyon ProPulse” programs were developed in close collaboration with companies to address concrete recruitment and skills transformation needs. In total, 25 partner companies took part through the Individual Operational Preparation for Employment (POEI) scheme. Participating companies offered various outcomes, including permanent contracts, fixed-term contracts and apprenticeships.
For the launch of its first “emlyon ProPulse” programs, the School also benefited from the support of France Travail, particularly in identifying and guiding candidates, as well as in funding training for some learners.
A structuring program range paving the way for the Tech School
The ‘emlyon ProPulse’ extension programs reflect the School’s strong ambition to open its programs more widely to new audiences and enable them to access qualifying pathways leading to solid career opportunities. This approach is part of emlyon’s ongoing commitment to inclusion, as illustrated by La Toile, a 100% free digital school launched in 2021, which has already supported more than 750 people far from employment and training, with an average of 88% positive outcomes. It is also reinforced by structural measures such as tuition fee exemptions for scholarship students in the Grande École Program (levels 4 to 7) starting in the 2026 academic year
Building on this success, the “emlyon ProPulse” programs will continue to develop next year. The “Augmented Technician” and “AI Lead” programs will be renewed in early 2027, with the latter also offered in Paris in addition to Lyon. Two new intensive programs will expand the portfolio: the first, launching in late 2026 in Paris, will focus on upskilling customer advisors in the banking sector; the second, opening in early 2027 in Lyon, will focus on cybersecurity. This range represents the first step in building emlyon’s Tech School, whose initial degree programs will open in the 2027 academic year.
