Research in Economics Exchange

With Université Lumière Lyon II, codeveloped with Université Jean Monnet de Saint-Étienne and ENS de Lyon

This opportunity is aimed at students with an interest in microeconomics and macroeconomics topics.

Organization

This exchange takes place in Master 2, from January to June.

ICM Exchange (Civil Engineering of Mines)

With École des Mines de Saint-Étienne

This exchange is aimed at students who wish to acquire dual expertise in management and engineering. The ICM exchange trains engineers who are destined to become future leaders, through two disciplinary majors, scientific foundations, and a societal challenge.

Organization

This exchange takes place in Master 2.

  • Completion of 2 semesters, including 6 months of final internship (TFE)

Youth Cycle - IHEDN

With Institut des Hautes Études de Défense Nationale

This program is open to students from prestigious schools (military, management, and business schools) who wish to participate in an internship addressing geostrategic issues and major national defense and security challenges. The internship includes debates and conferences, committee work leading to a presentation to the entire cohort, and a visit to a military or industrial site.

Objectives

  • Raise awareness among interns about defense and foreign policy issues and challenges.
  • Foster encounters and exchanges between future potential senior leaders of the Nation.

Organization

The course lasts for 1 week. Session dates to be confirmed with the Institute of Advanced National Defense Studies (IHEDN). Activities are tailored to the level of students (both male and female) and are conducted in a completely secure environment. Interns must be medically fit, with no contraindications for physical activities and obstacle course events, and have a liability insurance contract in place.

Students will be evaluated based on their level of participation: responses to the speakers' questions, questions asked, and activity during the business game. The final grade will also take into account, one-third, the quality of group work and oral presentations.

Grande Ecole Exchange

With École spéciale militaire de Saint-Cyr

In partnership with the École Spéciale Militaire de Saint-Cyr, this program offers Master 2 students the opportunity to experience a 6-month immersion in the heart of the French Army. The immersion begins with general officer training at the prestigious Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan military schools and continues with specialized training at a branch-specific school (infantry, cavalry, artillery, engineering), before culminating in immersion with a regiment (operational unit).

Objectives

  • Develop leadership skills in various aspects, including command, education, and communication.
  • Enhance the ability to manage stress and make decisions in emergency and crisis situations.
  • Foster teamwork and a strong work ethic through individual and collective physical engagement.
  • Develop management qualities based on military technical knowledge.

Organization

6 months (February to July of Master 2) with 3 key phases.

  • 6 weeks of initial training at the Saint-Cyr Coëtquidan Military Schools
  • 4 weeks at a branch-specific school (artillery, infantry, armored cavalry, or engineering)
  • 3 months in a regiment

emlyon Biopharma

With Université Claude Bernard Lyon 1 and Copenhagen Business School

The emlyon Biopharma program is open through a competitive entrance exam to French and international students holding a bachelor's or master's degree in life sciences (biochemistry, bioengineering, microbiology, immunology, pharmacy, etc.) who wish to pursue a career in the biotechnology sector or the pharmaceutical industry.

Organization

The program is structured over two years:

  • In Year 1, in addition to the many academic options and activities offered by the MiM, the enrolled students have access to a “specialization” track of two courses (48 contact hours) on the economics of the biopharma industry, which is specific to the emlyon BioPharma curriculum.
  • In Year 2, they may opt for elective courses at emlyon business school or apply for a range of academic courses in partner institutions.
  • Final internship in the biopharmaceutical field.

Two of these courses occur in the first semester, from September to December, in one of the following two programs:

Students who opt for one these routes return to emlyon business school for the second semester, and take part in a “professionalization track” of dedicated courses (96 contact hours), involving the contributions of scientists, executives and entrepreneurs from research centers, biotech ventures, pharmaceuticals companies and consulting firms.

emlyon Biopharma Program available as a double degree with University College London (UCL) Global Business School for Health

This double degree allows students of the Master in Management - Grande Ecole program to obtain the MSc in Biotech and Pharmaceutical Management from the Global Business School for Health at University College London (UCL).

  • First year in Lyon: Specialization in the economics and management of the biopharmaceutical sector, at the heart of the Gerland district—a major biopharmaceutical hub in Europe (World Health Organization, International Agency for Research on Cancer, Sanofi, bioMérieux, Boehringer Ingelheim, Bioaster, Lyonbiopole, French BioCluster for Innovation in Infectious Diseases, etc.)
  • Second year at UCL: Continuation of the program within the MSc in Biotech and Pharmaceutical Management, which combines courses in pharmacoeconomics, sector regulation, and the development of innovative business models. Through an immersive approach, students take part in applied projects and gain access to UCL East’s cutting-edge facilities, located at the heart of London’s health innovation hub.
