Alexandra de la Fontaine Launches Crowdfunding Campaign

  • News

Co-leader of Ludocare and former Executive MBA participant Alexandra de la Fontaine has led her career with a single watchword: passion. An entrepreneur at heart, she joined the Ludocare team 2 years ago and today she is launching her first crowdfunding campaign !

Alexandra de la Fontaine describes her journey as "standard or almost standard". However, it is distinguished by a strong desire to work in the medical field. In order to combine business with pleasure, she made sure to work in her chosen sector and spent several years working for major companies in the pharmaceutical industry.

First in Vietnam and then in Malaysia. In total, she stayed in Asia for 7 years before returning to Europe. After 15 years of professional experience, the question of entrepreneurship arises. "When you stop making progress, you have to know how to create opportunities," says Alexandra de la Fontaine. She then thinks about buying a company of the SME type and decides to resign to form herself.

She chose emlyon business school and the Executive MBA. "I needed to arm myself, to equip myself for this new project. I chose emlyon business school for its Executive MBA in fast track format, i.e. full-time for 10 months, which allowed me to get fully involved in this project and put all the chances on my side. But also for its content, which was trendy, start-up and SME, and suited me well." In September 2015, she left the Paris region with her husband and children and moved to Lyon to follow the training and set up her project. Team spirit, benevolence, a strong human focus... She is seduced by the state of mind of the training.

At the "Salon des entrepreneurs", she met a young structure in creation and its two partners: Thierry Basset is a pharmacist biologist and Elodie Loisel, an engineer. Both are working on a robot to improve compliance in asthmatic children. Called "Joe", it helps young patients to become autonomous in taking their treatment. It reminds them to take their medication and encourages them to be diligent through a reward system. As a result, the risk of hospitalization is greatly reduced. For Alexandra de la Fontaine, this is obvious: the theme concerns the medical field and the two partners are looking for a third person to take care of the business, strategy and finance aspects, which is totally in line with Alexandra's skills.

Today, Alexandra has traveled a long road with her two associates, a road made of hard work, determination and self-sacrifice that led her to launch the first crowfunding campaign for the young Lyon start-up. At emlyon executive development, we are proud of our participants' track record but also proud to be able to enable them to make the transformation they dream of. Alexandra truly embodies the "early maker" spirit because tomorrow's entrepreneurs will be more than ever doers, visionaries, with an ability to anticipate and innovate, to experiment and transform: more than ever we reveal ourselves as early makers.

About Crowdfunding:

Since its creation in September 2017, the LUDOCARE startup has set itself the objective of helping patients with chronic diseases. LUDOCARE has developed JOE & LÉO, two robots designed to help children with chronic diseases manage their daily treatments. JOE is the best friend of children with asthma and LEO is the best friend of children with cystic fibrosis. The robots can be configured via a mobile application on the parents' smartphone.

How to participate ?

LUDOCARE has chosen the Ulule platform to lead its Crowdfunding campaign. Today, the startup has well exceeded its initial objective... but it does not intend to stop there and wants to reach 200%!
