The mission of the Career Center is to prepare and support students and graduates for successful integration and long-term employability in response to the evolving challenges of the business world. The career department at emlyon offers a comprehensive range of services and resources to guide the student and alumni community throughout their professional journey, while also meeting the needs of partner companies.

What is a Career Center ?

The Career Center is an essential service within schools or educational institutions, tasked with facilitating students' professional integration. It fulfills three main functions: centralizing job and internship offers from partner companies, organizing these companies' visits to campus for forums and conferences, and helping students prepare their applications through career workshops, personalized coaching, and digital tools.

A partner for employability

At emlyon, student support is provided by specialized teams, each focused on a specific area to ensure comprehensive and enriching preparation for professional life. These teams play a pivotal role in the students' professional and personal development, equipping them to enter the workforce and maximize their employability. The employability teams also works closely with companies and recruiters looking for new hires, facilitating connections with emlyon students and graduates.

Career Support

Responsible for designing a comprehensive and integrated system, the Career Support department assists students from the moment they arrive at emlyon and up to three years after graduation. This service offers group workshops, individual coaching, conferences, and thematic programs, as well as digital resources to prepare student for recruitment and the corporate world.

Employer Relations & Partnerships

Through recruitment events and employer branding initiatives, the Employer Relations department enhances the visibility of key companies across its campuses. It also manages a dedicated platform to post internship and job opportunities for students and assists companies with their recruitment strategies and employer branding efforts.

Ensuring a seamless experience for all emlyon students, the Professional Experience & Work-Study Programs department manages internships and apprenticeships for over 600 apprentices across various programs. Career counseling workshops

The Career Center provides collective career counseling services designed to help students clarify and refine their career goals. Group workshops are conducted to equip students with the skills needed to meet job market demands. These workshops include CV writing, interview preparation, personal branding, and networking skills development.

Individual coaching

Individual coaching offers personalized support for each student. Experienced coaches work one-on-one with students to develop job search strategies, enhance communication skills, and build self-confidence.

Conferences and recruitment events

The career department hosts thematic conferences throughout the year to explore key topics introduced in workshops, such as leveraging LinkedIn and AI for job searching, careers in finance and consulting, and impact-driven professions. It also organizes recruitment events to connect students with potential employers. These events include recruitment fairs, industry-specific days, challenges, networking sessions, and employability seminars, offering students valuable opportunities to engage with recruiters and discover diverse career paths.

Digital resources

Students can access a variety of digital resources through an online platform. This includes job listings, career assessment tools, and insights into labor market trends. Recruiters also utilize the platform to post job openings such as internships, work-study positions, and full-time roles.

Alumni, leveraging their extensive experience and expertise, are instrumental in enhancing students' employability. The network regularly hosts networking events, conferences, and mentorship programs, fostering meaningful connections between alumni and current students. Moreover, alumni play a significant role in recruitment events organized by emlyon, creating valuable career opportunities for new graduates.

Professional experience support

The professional experience service supports students in navigating the administrative aspects of their work placements. Whether through internship agreements (during their studies or a gap year) or work-study/apprenticeship programs, the service ensures adherence to regulatory requirements to ensure smooth integration into the workplace. It provides continuous assistance to resolve any administrative or logistical challenges that students may face.

Apprenticeship

The support for students pursuing an apprenticeship or work-study path is thorough and well-structured, with five available work-study programs. For instance, students in the Global BBA or Programme Grande École can begin working with companies in their final year, while those in Mastère Spécialisé prepare for key roles in entrepreneurship, law, or digital transformation. Numerous partner companies and key recruiters offer work-study opportunities, particularly during the Apprenticeship Forum, an event dedicated to recruitment for work-study positions. The Center for Apprenticeship Training and the Career Support department provide ongoing assistance to ensure the success of work-study placements at emlyon.
