This agreement will benefit all of the stakeholders of our communities.”
Ashley Fernandes, Head of Development in India at emlyon business school indicates “This Memorandum of Understanding illustrates the brand capital emlyon business school represents both on the local and on the international scenes. This partnership with JGU in Delhi makes the presence of the school in Bhubaneswar and Mumbai complete. We are very proud to be associated with JGU, a unique university in India, and to be able to co-construct innovative and high-quality programs with India, for India.”
Inauguration of the makers lab within the St Xavier College Autonomous in Mumbai
On October 22nd, 2022 in Mumbai, emlyon business school also inaugurated its makers lab within the St Xavier College. The ceremony took place in the presence of Jean-Marc Séré-Charlet, Consul General of France in Mumbai. The Ambassador of France in India, Mr. Emmanuel Lenain, also sent a video-taped message to congratulate emlyon and St Xavier College for this Indo-French collaboration.
Located on the emblematic campus of the St Xavier College, emlyon's makers lab will constitute the activity center of the school, at the heart of Mumbai, India's economic capital. It acts on the Memorandum of Understanding with the St Xavier College signed off in April 2021. The makers lab is a prototyping workshop. It provides students with various resources to design all types of objects: laser-cutting machines, 3D printers, embroidery machine, iMac equipped with intelligent screens and software...
About the makers lab, Isabelle Huault explains that “This is one of the constitutive elements of the Memorandum of Understanding signed off last year with the St Xavier College, where 40 students of the Grande Ecole Program are already studying as international exchange students. With this partnership, we are looking to provide a unique experience for students to see and live the world. We believe that the economic, social and environmental issues we are all faced with around the world, need to be addressed urgently. We also believe that the world's answer must be grounded in local realities. Thanks to all our partners in Bhubaneswar, Mumbai and Delhi, we are today, the first Indo-French business school in India.”
Ashley Fernandes** concludes that "Academic exchanges in India will transform our students' state of mind, the way they perceive the obstacles and opportunities they will come across. This unique Indo-French collaboration highlights the human outreach combining worldwide recognition and local relevance. In such difficult times, we want to provide the next generations with the means to act with confidence and determination.”
