Learning doesn't get more applied than the emlyon business school GIE Kickstarter program. Held at the beginning of the academic year as part of the school's recently launched MSc in Global Innovation and Entrepreneurship, the program sees groups of four students set up and pitch their own business ventures to potential investors via an online platform. Experiential learning at its best.

The COVID-stricken world in which many businesses have been operating since early-Spring 2020 doesn't have to be all doom and gloom. Whilst the hospitality industry has felt the financial squeeze as much as any other, the current crisis could just provide the ideal springboard for new talent to revive activity as never before. Martine Ferry, Director of the MSc in International Hospitality Management co-delivered by emlyon business school and the Institut Paul Bocuse, shares this optimistic outlook.

Held in April, the Product Design elective saw groups of IMBA students working in teams on developing a complete product design sprint for development and deployment of a given product and accompanying service, under the expert eye of External Learning Facilitator Rémi Edart. Students Sanchali Pyne and Shrijit Mazumdar recount the challenges posed by this intensive learning process and the insight provided into the role of Product Manager.

In this regard, Renault Trucks has implemented a custom training program for its marketing teams for the second consecutive year. The highlight of this program was the Design Sprint, which took place from March 9th to 11th, 2020 at the makers' lab on the Ecully campus.
