Quantitative Finance & Economics

Bio

As professor of economics of uncertainty, I explore how people make decisions and especially

  • what they believe,
  • whether they trust what they believe,
  • and whether we can trust what they say they believe.

A large part of my research focuses on ambiguity: how do people deal with situations in which risks are not objectively quantifiable? This entails measuring beliefs and how much beliefs influenced decisions, i.e. ambiguity attitudes. My research is interdisciplinary, using methods from economics, decision theory, and psychology. Many projects involve experiments, in the lab or in the field.
