Dr. Virginia DRUMMOND Abdala is double nationality (Brazilian and French) Cross Cultural and Intercultural Management and International Leadership Consultant, Trainer and Professor

She started her professional life in Brazil as an international lawyer. She's got a degree from the School of Law of the Federal Unviversity of Minas Gerais State, Brazil. She's also got a master (DESS) in European Geopolitics and one in Strategic Management (DEA Politique Générale des Organisations) from the University of Paris –Dauphine. She's got a PhD in the management field at the same university. Her doctoral research is on how managers develop intercultural awareness through corporate universities within international companies.

Virginia Drummond started her career at one of FIAT's organizations in Brazil. She undertook a research thal allowed a further elaboration and implementation of a cultural integration program for Italian expatriates in Brazil. Her researches on different cultural traits and behaviors within one of FIAT's companies in Brazil was highly appreciated and she's been invited to intervene as a trainer and a lecturer by several companies, business schools and universities since then.

She has also participated and presented papers in international events and workshops on Intercultural and Cross Cultural Management, she's a member of the EIASM (European Institute of Advanced Studies in Management), AOM Academy of Management, of EGOS, European Group of Organizational Studies.

She has also participated in the elaboration and analysis of the UNESCO's survey on intercultural and interreligious dialogue teaching in the world. As a matter of fact, she worked at UNESCO as an intern and later as a consultant at the Division of Intercultural Dialogue in 2001. Virginia published her first book as a consultant on February 2006: “Les piéges interculturels” at Gereso Editions which has been reedited 3 times since, later published in 2014 as “Management Interculturel, gèrer la dimension multiculturelle en enterprise”. She is currently writing a new book for HR personnel in French entitled: “Les managers globaux, mesurer son Global Mindset”. In addition to Portuguese, her native language, Virginia is fluent in English and French.

At emlyon business school Virginia teaches Intercultural Development for Global Managers and IHRM at the International MBA, The Global Entrepreneurship Program and many other reputed international programs. Dr Drummond is accredited at Level 1 C.Q. Cultural Intelligence Assessment and debriefing by the LCC, Cultural Intelligence Center at University of Michigan, USA. In addition to that, she is also an accredited facilitator for L.J.I ( Leadership Judgement Indicator) for Situational Leadership Assessment and debriefing.

Virginia is a visiting professor at Université of Paris-Dauphine's Executive Program for Intercultural Development Master MMI and also a visiting fellow at FDC – Fundaçao Dom Cabral Executive Education, in Brazil. Currently she is based in France where she is a permanent member of faculty at EM Lyon Business School.
